Advance RI-CTR Clinical & Translational Research Seminar Series: Drs. Clarkin and Jimenez-Colon

During this hour-long seminar, Dr. Christine Clarkin leads with the presentation: “EMPOWER PD: An integrated, person-centered model of health care delivery from community inspiration to clinic implementation.” In this lecture, Dr. Clarkin shares data from a pilot study assessing community need, recommendations, and implementation of a new model of care for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Following that, Dr. Jimenez-Colon presents: “Transgenerational Trauma in Latinx Families: Impact on parenting, child suicidality, and access to mental health services.” In this lecture, Dr. Jimenez-Colon shares preliminary findings from interviews with Latinx / Hispanic caregivers that will shed light on the transgenerational transmission of trauma’s impact on parenting and youth suicidality.
