Training Program Description

In this two day workshop presented by the American Statistical Association (ASA), Hawai’i Chapter at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa on June 5 & 6, 2019, Christopher H. Schmid, PhD presents on the topics of Evidence Synthesis & Meta-Analysis.

Day 1 is an Intro to Evidence Synthesis to prepare your topic, Formulate research, Q Search/screen studies, Extract data assess risk of bias, Qualitative synthesis, and Meta-analysis report findings

Day 2 is an overview of SR & MA, Types of MA outcomes, weighted averages, Heterogeneity 1- and 2-stage models, meta-regression Bayesian models, observational data, participant-level data, and Multivariate MA Network MA

Dr. Schmid is Professor and Chair of Biostatistics and co-founder of the Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health at Brown University School of Public Health. He directs the Clinical Study Design, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Core of Advance Clinical and Translational Research (Advance-CTR). He directs the Evidence Synthesis Academy, a federally funded educational program for mid-career professionals and users of healthcare evidence.
